Hi, I have a C220 CDi Coupe (54 reg) and have been quoted £57.16 plus vat per month for a 2 year service contract. Also have to pay £100 plus vat for the car to be inspected. Any defects/worn parts to be replaced by them at my expense before contract can start. Then no servicing/repairs in 1st 3 months. I have 'B' service due in approx 3 months. Is this offer a waste of money or good value? All comments appreciated.

Assume you mean Service Contract Plus. Depending on your agreed mileage with MBUK (who provide the contract), £57 sounds right. 10000 ish miles per year?
If it is S-C-Plus then, as a scheme, it's wonderful value. A few people are on it on here and I think they swear by it (I do).
Now, where are you in UK, because my dealer didn't charge for the inspection, and I think you should be able to negotiate that charge right out. Also, this part about replacing worn parts, you're only just out of warranty, so depending on the miles you've done, you may not have to pay for anything. Of course if your car's done massive mileage, then the above information may not hold good.

think thsi is just the service cover, not service plus.

The former gives servicing for monthly payments, the latter gives this plus a good warranty and roadside help.
On my quote I was also offerred a free MOT on both options
I would like to know how any users get on with dealers, once the dealers know they are being paid by MB, probaby at reduced rates. Would Service plus cover all the advisories I was hit with and said no to, I wonder, like tranny fluid change etc etc ? suspect not!!

Dealer in Hull is great. B Service under S-C-Plus included brake fluid change at no charge. ATF might come down to 'Is it in the service schedule for that milege"? If yes, it should be covered. Going to be an interesting one though.

I have the normal "Service Contract" (as in not the + ) which costs me £33.33/month incl VAT. Really good value and just had my first service done at the cost of £0 (the actual inv was £260). This also include wiper blades every 18 months or so I believe.

Would highly recommend it.

noiw that is interesting. I was told that I needed ATF as an advisory within 1 k miles. last week when it was serviced by MB at 36k. The car will be under service plus hopefully for next service as it is 2.5 years old, but knowing what they are like, I can't see them doing this unpromted if I'm not paying for it. And is it true that MB pay them a lower labour rate so they are less inclined to do optional or even unnecessary work that we usually get tucked up for !!

Is it in the service schedule for your model to change ATF at certain intervals?
I can only go by my experience as follows - arrive at dealers, discuss my list of what I think wants doing against the dealers computer print out for my B service - reach complete agreement with the service manager and on collecting the car find out they've also changed wiper blades which I didn't think about, and done other small things as well. Plus gave me a free winter screenwash care kit, possibly £30 quidsworth.
So my people just seem keen on keeping me happy. (It's like the Jap car dealers years ago, when they were moving in to UK).
