Service in Runcorn/Ayr

Hi all

I live in Ayr but work at the moment in Runcorn Monday to Thursday. I'm looking for a reliable service agent to handle routine stuff generally and a climate control problem (leaking gas) specifically on my '02 E320 CDi estate.

Ayr has both a main dealer and an authorised repairer but I wouldn't rely on either of them to organise the proverbial in a brewery - especially after one of them cracked a hose (but didn't notice) whilst carrying out a "B" service recently... when it went back for this to be fixed, the claimed to have finally located the leak (after around £250 of labour & gas) but now want £650 to fix it. I neither trust them to do it properly nor have confidence the cost is justified.

So, after that ramble/rant, if anyone can suggest someone accessible to either work or home, it would be greatly appreciated.

Someone previously mentioned an independant in Stevenson who also had a STAR machine. If you do a search you should find the name and correct address.

GH. Mrs H was unhappy with their attention to her '98 C180 as well. I wouldn't go there again but it's obviously a personal thing.

I thought as much, try MB at Whitletts roundabout, ask for Jon the service manager, ace bloke, can't recommend highly enough. Explain your previous experience, beleive me he will understand !

Thanks Chas - I'll give them a try next time, I'm generally dubious about official dealers.

I dropped the car off at MB Tech in Warrington this morning, as per the post by Dave's E55 AMG (thanks Rory, for the link) so fingers crossed
