Hi all,
Time for a service, so time to find a decent independent (especially after the local dealer had to go away and think about a price so hard he never came back to me!)...
Has anyone tried any of these and if so, what did you think of them?:
- Jon Paul, Thornwood (Epping, Essex)
- Regency Motors, Lewisham (London SE)
- Just Mercs, Newham Way East Ham (London E6)
- DW Leisure, Welling (Kent)
Interestingly, I've tried calling a few of these and the usual suspects to ask about the cost for a 72k service on my 1991 500SL and replacement of the rubber mounts at the top of the front shocks. The service prices vary quite a bit, but the shocks are a right shocker
- estimates vary from "about 4 hours work" down to the more plausible "oh, those... yes, about 45 mins each side". Seems someone out there doesn't know their Mercs quite as well as we'd like!
Any advice on the servicing options gratefully received!
