I've got a 98 E240, which is now in need of a service (according to ASSYST) I have spoken to an independant specialist who informed me that as it's done 110,000 it will require a major service. Supposedly the "Major" B service is required every 54,000 miles, is this correct?? They have advised that the plugs need changing etc etc and have quoted £400 - 500. Is this reasonable??
(PS. For an "A" service they charge £95 plus parts, which seems quite reasonable)

I imagine he means a 'B' plus all the other time/miles limited items in the back of your service book. They include items such as AT oil, coolent, plugs (12), Brake fluid etc etc.

Ask him in advance what he is doing

PS: A B A B A usually go in sequence. Average miles between each is about 15 - 20k
