I am thinking about buying a 1995 SL 500 and have test driven about 4 of them so far, including an SL60. I have been struck by the different feel to the accelerator pedal on these cars - some have a decent, firm feel to them, and others are so light it's hard to tell when your foot is actually in contact with the pedal. All of the cars are of similar mileages (40-60K). Is it possible to just 'tighten' the pedal to restore the decent firm feel I actually prefer, or is this symptomatic of something amiss? Any responses welcome.

hi

all the engine varients have a different feel due to the linkage,it also depends what age of car you are looking at as the very late ones only have an electric pedal and no cable

Re: sl

Thanks Piestore. That would explain it. 1994 models presumably are all cable, whereas the December 1995 reg models were much lighter underfoot.
