Hi
just a quicky - Sl passed MOT with only one slight fault - which was the headlights were too low when switched on- this was due to the diesel engine being heavier - the garage adjusted them with no charge-

Evening Alex, you fancy a derv SL????

Raaather! 320 CDI would do very nicely thank you. Probably give much the same performance as the 5 L 129 petrol, but at 40 + mpg, and torque galore, I think it would be excellent. ;)

Were you offering?

Thank you for being interested in my project, would not suggest any one to do this as I spent a lot of hours on it but I am lucky as I am retired.

I would have liked to have gone to the Cornwall meet, but i wanted to get the car completed and it was only MOT's yesterday 10th June.
Today decided to take the hard top off ,but every time i pushed the button to realease the hard top it would not work. Went indoors and thought about it, then realised when you turn ignition on, you have to push the hard top operating button within 10 seconds. As the car was cold and now diesel, it takes 7 or 8 seconds for the glow plugs to warm up, so had to warm the engine up first, switch off and restart. Everything works fine.

I didn't know that Brian. I must just have been getting it right by accident all this time!

You learn something new every day!

I am retired too, but it does not seem to liberate the kind of free time to tackle that sort of project. Well, not enough time for me to tackle it, to be more precise/honest!
