They are both the same location?!

The clicking sound isn't coming from under the rear seat its coming from behind it. In the soft top roof compartment.

"But when I press the centre console switch there is definatly a clicking sound behind the drivers side rear seat."

Well the ECU is behind the driver's seat! - maybe you need to make things a little clearer!

To be honest I can't see you're going to get anywhere with this - take it to a decent specialist or a main dealer.

NO it read "behind the drivers side rear seat". Not behind the drivers seat!

OK behind the offside (drivers side) rear seat not under the offside (drivers side) rear seat, surely thats clear enough.
Thanks for your help:rolleyes:

On rear axle there is a test switch S83/2 turn it to locked, drive the car at 10kmh and do a quick stop this should activate the roll bar, turn it back to function after the test.

Other reasons
Control unit
supply voltage
seatbelt lock relay driver
triggering solenoid
Switch s83/2 and S 83/3

I can send you a location of components paper

If you could send me that info it would be great, do you want me to send you an e-mail or can you post the info on the forum. I will have a go at the S83/2 test switch. Only problen is I need a rain free window as the roof is stowed.

Cheers

Thanks Malcolm I've got the e-mail now.
I have had a look for the s83/2 test switch on the rear axle but I can't find it at present. I can use a friends ramp on Monday so I can have a better look then. Is the switch located under the plastic cover that covers the under side of the axle? The UVS 1298203126(0 8 ) is under the offside rear seat, would this be the control unit you refered to.
Thanks ADP

Sorry to drag this one back to the top but i did the test by putting the sensors to Stop and then hit the breaks hard at 10kph and the bar extended fine.

Now mine is stuck up. Anyone know how to get it back down?

The roll bar switch should allow you to lower it - reset it by holding the switch up for 5s and then down for 5s.

Yeah that the was the problem in the first place unfortunatly. The roll bar won't work via the switch so one of my problem solving expercises was to see if the roll bar had any power to it and tested it using the Stop setting on the sensors. It works fine and shot up.

Now its stuck up and wondered if i could cross any connections on the hydraulic unit under the spare wheel to manually retract it?

If I remember you have to hold the button down for some time for it to re engage once fired

The button?

You mean the manual retraction button on the dash? Thats the problem really Malcom, that doesn't work. I've tried all the usual reset functions like holding the button in either direction for 20 odd seconds.

Thanks anyway and good to see you back in the action. Your help is much appreciated.

If the button doesn't work you're in a spot of bother I'm afraid. If the switch physically works then the roll-bar ECU is faulty.
