SL V12. All forlorn

Hi,

Just doing our walk around the neighbourhood, and noticed a V12 SL R129 on a driveway of a rather nice house, flat tyre. Hood decidedly green (algae) looking sad and neglected.
K reg - 1993 ish?

It doesn’t look too bad apart from being dirty.

I know it could hide a multitude of gremlins..... but one does wonder

One wonders if the guy at the really expensive house can’t afford to run/repair it , can you ?

I think they be be elderly or become infirm, a walking frame was visible in the window.

As for me - who knows.... facing redundancy at the moment.

12,000 redundancy, the other 32,000 to go onto ‘zero hours’ type contracts.

One wonders why an airline screaming ‘overcapacity’ is currently cash purchasing another airline for €1.1 billion.

.....and all the job cuts are in the UK..... and the vast majority of profit is generated in the UK.

Doesn't it have something to do with slots at various airports? i.e. Airport can only handle x flights /day & if that airline has a bunch of slots at airports that the purchasing airline does not...?

Sorry your livelihood is in jeopardy, that's crappy. My father worked for BA for 43 years, a job for life. Sadly, there's no such thing anymore. I've been freelance most of my working life. No job security, no sick pay, etc. I've actually enjoyed my career and been gainfully employed every year but there's no sense of security, ever. I hope things go well for you.

I used to pass an old E type, sat in garden, looking very neglected. This was in the early eighties. On my next leave I asked about it, got it for peanuts on the proviso that I repaired the fence as this had to come down to get the car out.
Got it on the road after some work, continued to do it up when I had time or money. Stupidly got married and sold it to buy a kitchen a bit later. One of my big regrets.

No, Caledonian was bought for £1, due to its debts and pension liabilities.
