SL320 cabin noise (fuel?)

Can anybody help with this strange problem. I have a noise that sounds like a gurgling/swooshing when in slow traffic. it comes from under the rear seats. The garage have only eventually stopped the noise by squeezing the return fuel hose to the tank, but they cannot see what the problem is. They want the car for a long time until they 'might' find the problem, but because its not a 'failure' they wont take it seriously. Its very annoying and sometimes very loud. Has anyone had a similar problem?

I ssume you have a 129 sl and not the r230 Sl . If you have the R 230 this is a known problem and there is a modified fuel tank to fit
