Morning all, can you help?

I recently had to sell an SL 500 for a dear old mate who died at the ripe old age of 43. I sold the car to a very decent chap who keeps in touch and has asked a question. When in drive it sometimes behaves like a normal manual car in that the engine noise rises but it doesn't go forward! It appears to be intermittant but as I have not witnessed it I can't say more. Any pointers?
is it likely to be an expensive fix?

Cheers

Richard

Could be as simple as a filter change on the box and fresh oil, might be best if you can find a merc specialist in your or his area and get them to have a look.

There will others with some advice so hang tight.

Smart + others :)
1st check the oil level, then check the control cable isn't too tight and the modulating pressures ( you need a special pressure guage for this). If low milage could also be a valve sticking in the valve body?
