SLK 200 advice

Hi, Hoping someone on here might be able to answer a question for a work colleague. She has put a deposit down on a Y registration (year 2000) SLK 200. When we try to get insurance quotes every company website only shows a 200K variant for that year. Can someone tell me if the standard 200 was released in the UK around early 2000? I suspect the car could be a non EU import.

If you have the Vin No. (In the bottom of the windscreen on passenger side) put it into this site and you can find out all the details about the car including where it was first delivered and what car it is.

As I understand it, all SLKs of that era were K variants - meaning Kompressor or supercharger. Hence the SLK200 had the engine from the C200k.

No they wern't. There are some just 2.0 non supercharged around but just not many of them.

Thankyou all very much. The car is an import from Germany, the dealer has just confessed! Seems funny that it is a right hand drive car though.
