I drove quite few different E classes when I was looking for mine.
What stood out above everything is how much faster the 320 engine felt.
Autocar got 7.5sec 0-60 from a 12V 300CE. I drove a lot of these, (24Vs as well) and they certainly didn't feel that quick (maybe they were all equally clapped?)
Anyway, when I drove a 320CE, I just had to have it! it was significantly faster by that most accurate measuring device "seat of the pants".
So what I'm trying to say is the best tuning mod for a 300E-class is to replace the 3 litre 12V with a 320 from a scrappy, you know for a fact that it will fit, and the performance is pretty well guarenteed.
It won't be cheap, but I'll bet it would be cheaper than a turbo/suprtcharger, any other tuning mod makse so little difference that it won't be noticed............
Don't even think of trying to fit a 320 into your 300, The 300 performnace isn't bad but if you really need to spend more money on speeding tickets and fuel just sell yours and buy a quicker one ( 500 or similar)
No sorry I have a E320 Avant Garde looking to get a bit better performance out of it nd maybe pump up the bhp. I have seen Superchips do a ECU chip which gives an extra 12hp. Would changing the Filter for a performance one get ma any extra bhp? Would putting on an AMG exhaust get an more bhp. It would go with the rest of the car as it has AMG alloys and bodykit.
