I Have an '03 Sprinter 213, owned from new and 87K under its wheels.

It has become a terrible starter, either hot or cold.

Spins over fast enough but no life. Have tried an extra battery via jump leads and this has sometimes helped.

Heater plug current draw is good.

Had it to MB who found a small air leak, but the repair has made no difference.

They suggest a leak test on the injectors, but can't be sure this will fix it.

Once started, it flies, but switching off, even for 2 minutes means reaching for the easy start.

What's your opinion?

Regards

Injectors, if it starts on sniff it's not maintaining it's pressure. You need some one to put a test on each to see which one it is.

bad starting

sounds as though injectors 1 or 2 of them my have a bad leakoff needs a leakoff test, also at the back of the common rail is the rail pressure sensor. sometimes a small peice of the o ring comesaway and can cause this problem as it gets worse can cause engine to cut out. hope this helps.chris.
