My Sprinter 312D smokes a fair bit when left to idle on veg oil and then revved aggressivley I don't know when the injetors were last refurbed or changed and was just wandering at what milages they should be looked at/replaced as i thought this could be a reason for the excessive smoking.

i've been given the impression that 100k is quite high for injectors on my cdi engines

Some fuel treatments will help injectors last a bit longer than that. My sprinter has done 106k and i'm hoping that a course of whatever it is i decide to put in will extend their working a little. They're far from cheap objects to replace.

i have started to put redex in with a few tank fulls and it has significantly reduced the smoking but if left to idle for long periods of time on veg oil it sitll plumes out when you first start to work the engine, which is somewhat annoying.

a very small puff of black smoke when accelerating hard from very low revs or a standstill but thats its, it just does the same but a normal amount like most diesels.Where as on veg it smokes loads under these circumstances. it has been suggested on other forums that it oculd be fuel hanging aorund in the pre chamber loses too much heat to the coolant and so does not burn properly when it gets used, or something along those lines.
