SRS stays illuminated on the instrument cluster and the passenger seat no longer moves when I lift the handle to let someone into the back. Both these started happening yesterday so my assumption is there is a connection.

Any thoughts?

Passenger seat moves ok with controls on the door, it is just the auto sliding back and forth by lifting the handle that does nothing.

This could be a broken wire in the seat, we had the same thing earlier this year on another. When you find the fault it may need STAR to turn off the SRS lamp

Thanks Television, I will have a look at any wiring in the seat I can find.

The back should just come off easily with 2 screws at the bottom, and it slides off

The wiring that goes around the seat back is a classic failure on the W215. Normally you get the warning in the cluster that the seat is not locked in.
