I have recently purchased a 97 E280 elegance (V6) its a great car with more options than a 50 storey shopping mall but when i accelerate from a stand still it revs out to rev limiter (feels like its going to blow up), sticks there for 2 seconds and eventually changes up which feels quite heavy and bumpy, but the car wont do this if i take off smoothly without heavy accelration? the car has done 181,000 kms i have been told that the transmissions are a bit dodgy in these cars can someone help, does the trans need replacing or is it simply case of adjusting?
