My Silver 220TE registration number K26 HPU was stolen in London SE16 some when over night this Tuesday / Wednesday. It is a seven seater model with black cloth interior and walnut trim with just over 121000 miles on the clock.

Realistically I don't expect to see it again, but if anyone does see it around or anything that could be the same vehicle I would appreciate it if you could let me know and / or inform the police.

My only consolation is that it was a ''second car'' and I had agreed value insurance, which should mean I am not out of pocket, but it still doesn't feel good knowing that some other b**tard just felt like helping themself to my car!! It was a perfectly good example which no doubt will either end up dismantled for spares or will turn up wrecked somewhere.

Dave, very sorry to hear about your loss.

I too had a 230TE stolen in the past, from North London (Highgate). Not too much time later a gang of people that stole older Mercs on low loaders and then stripped them and sent the parts to Africa & East was caught. Hope they're not operating again...!

No, it didn't have an alarm and immobiliser - I'm sure thats probably one of the reasons it was taken as I guess it wouldn't be that difficult if someone knows how to break into a car?? In fact about 100 yds from where mine was parked there was a much nicer N-reg E280 estate that wasn't taken, probably because it did have an alarm.

I shall know next time to look for onw that is fully alarmed.

Very sad but true it will be on its way overseas in a container by now. Ive sold two MB's last year and both would be cut up and containered.
