Struggling to go over 80mph

Hi

I have an E300td W210 1997 with 150k miles with a few problems, can someone please help me out.

1) The glow light comes on after starting, then goes off about a minute later.

2) The car jerks sometimes

3) The car is driving okay within town, but as soon as I hit the motorway, I cannot go over 80mph.

4) Also at the last service I was told that the intercooler pipe is broken. Does anyone no where I can locate it, or what it looks like.

Hello,

1. Your first problem is one or more glow plugs has failed, you need to check which one and replace it.

2,3 and 4 are most proberly causes of a split charge pressure hose causing these faults. You need to check the charge air curcuit from the turbo to the intercooler ( small radiator at the front of the car which coolers the turbo gases) at the front and back to the inlet manifold to find which hose is split and replace it.
