stuck in 1st

    hi ive recently purchased a 320 clk auto avantegard convertible and yesterday noticed that when i put it in gear it clonked and was then difficult to go from reverse back to drive ,when it eventually went back in drive it stayed in 1st ,it has only 76000 miles on the clock and recently had new oil and filter in the box.any ideas ????

    I would say the speed plate has failed, STAR would confirm this and a good indie can check it, quite a common fault

    Not enough oil in the box would be my suggestion
