Sl55 2005 is the car in case anyone also has some car specific tips as well

I'm thinking of going for a Veba unit, unless others think the twin tuner option is the way to go (with USB input)

Quite a read...

I think the twin tuner version is the way I want to go, with the usb for HDD/solid state input.

Is there one that you can recommend for my car and if you have a concise fitting guide it would be very much appreciated ! there's a lot to take in on the three threads and whilst I'm pretty handy with spanners/soldering iron amalgamating all the info from 3 threads is something I'm not confident with.

If you supply the kit I would be more than happy to buy it from you.

Well I am looking to change my single tuner to a twin tuner version.

The reason being that you can keeps one tuner down loaded with your local transmitter, and use the other one when you are away from home.

I have been looking on Ebay and they are quite expensive right now,,I may search overseas Ebay to see what is on offer.

I will guide you through it all, but some connections have to be made in the car, like the 2 antenna lead that must be cut and converted to Coax plugs, you only need to remove the side panel trim, and I will guide you through that, just got to find a couple of tuners now

Triffic had the side panel off already to view the tuner. Seems that Landywood was looking to do the same as he's popped up a few times on a couple of threads.

There don't seem to be many twin tuners with USB around, certainly not on Ebay, but interesting doing the research !

Hi Malcolm - Mike (Landywood) has spotted this little gem. Twin tuner and USB. I've emailed him to double check if it's a twin tuner and also try and get a deal on the postage.

If you're happy with it I'll get them ordered and then pop one in the post to you upon arrival.

Whilst we're fiddling about with the tv tuner is it worth installing a rear view reversing camera ? Having scuffed the underside of my old CL55 on a low wall that the parking sensors didn't pick up I know they can be very handy. They're also peanuts on ebay.

The one in your link had twin tuners as there were 2 antenna input sockets you could a camera to the other in put on the tuner

They will do 2 for £185 with DHL express shipping. They also do rear view cameras built into the number plate light and keeping the original light. Merc SL isn't listed, but I've enquired if they do them. Shall I press the go button on the DVB-T ?
