Hi
Hi I am just stopping by from the TR Register Forum to say to thank you to the guy who stopped and helped me out Saturday morning of the Revival weekend.
We were on Bognor seafront, bonnet up and stuck with a totally dead battery. This chap stopped his morning walk as people do when they see an old car with the bonnet up,. Then went and fetched his car to drove me to Halfords and then back, saw us on our way.
On the drive to shop he talked about his own classic - a finned Mercedes saloon, he drives a black Mercedes estate. So if you know this ancient and modern Mercedes driver from Bognor , perhaps you can let him know how much I appreciated his help.

You meet the nicest people driving an old car!

Of course, all Mercedes estate drivers are of high calibre - nearly up to TR4 driver standards!

Having sold my TR6 only a couple of years ago after five years of thankfully no bonnet up incidents I understand Fintail`s actions. Driving a classic brings out the best even in white van drivers. Perhaps in twenty years my W124 cab will have the same effect with the bonnet down and the wheels travelling??
