Good People,
Just done an oil change on the newly aquired A150 (service indicator said it would be Ok for another 6K but I begged to differ seeing the state of the oil)
The new element came with a large O ring and a small one, now the large one is for the screw top, but I could not find where the smaller one is meant to go, there was nothing on the centre spigot on which the filter element locates.
Maybe on the previous service it was forgotten ?
Anyone any ideas ?

Stefan

It go.s on the oil filter housing itself, if you look where the socket fits the housing, your see I cut out! That's where it fits!!!!

Hi
You will see 2 grooves at the tip of the black spindle. It goes in one of those grooves but I cant remember which one.

Now I am confused as the centre spigot does not come out on mine, the element snaps into the screw on cap, and you then push the whole thing onto the centre spigot which is spring loaded.
In fact just read on another forum a similar topic, their deduction is that in this case the smaller O ring is not required.

Thanks for the info
