HI ,

A few questions about adding bits

The Car CLK 220 CDI (W209) 2005

1 - Comand - Braybrooks do a retrofit unit for 1300.00 + VAT with the aerial and all the other bits , Is this a good buy ?

2 - Reversing Sensors - I phoned MB this morning and they told me a reversing sensor kit for the REAR only is 1290.00 !!! Does any one know of any good company that can fit reverse sensors , I don't really want to pay 1290.00 when you see aftermarket kits for a lot cheaper .

3 - Heated front seats , again anyone know of a company that does a retrofit service for these ?

4 - Turbo remap , I am lost here I see chip kits for 50.00 and kits for 600.00 with a claim of +25 bhp , Are these myth or do they actually say what they do , And why the difference in price ? . Will it screw up the warranty on the car ?

I had reversing sensors retro-fitted by an MB dealership in Glasgow. 1st class job - did whilst I waited - £254 - including labour and VAT. Bargain!

I found a company on the internet a few weeks ago who retro fitted heated seats to MB's, I did not save the page though as they were somewhere in the south of england and too far away for me.

You may find it yourself if you want to try google.

like most things, if you want the proper MB kit, fitted with an MB loom and installed in the same way as the factory, it will be pricey.
But if you just want the functionality, then there are way cheaper options out there.

This isn't exactly what you asked, but if you are thinking of retrofitting all these options, might it not be cheaper to look around and part exchange it with one that has them already fitted?

As for question 4. Check out "Brabus" on brabus.de all covered by MB UK with full warranty. Few details regarding vehicle age and mileage. Below 2 years old and 20000 Miles you get full cover. Costs alot, but installed by MB.

I am doing the D6 kit for my C320 Cdi = +48 Bhp and 80 Nm Torque!!

I had genuine MB rear sensors fitted (by MB) ~£300

3 - Heated front seats , again anyone know of a company that does a retrofit service for these ? If you have leather seats you probably already have the heater elements stiched in, just need wiring loom, relay and switches

4 - Turbo remap , I am lost here I see chip kits for 50.00 and kits for 600.00 with a claim of +25 bhp , Are these myth or do they actually say what they do , And why the difference in price ? . Will it screw up the warranty on the car ? Do they work? Yes but the more you pay the more they work efficiently... and yes it will screw your warranty unless done by the very few MB approved tuners

Do you have any idea how much Mercedes will charge for this, assuming I have the heater elements stiched in?

Also is there anyway that I can check if the elements are stiched in?

Thanks

The heating elements will not be there if not ordered with the car

But it is possible for there to be heating elements without the switch, relay and wiring loom?
