The attention to detail is admirable but nothing seams to work....

Whilst not incorrect I don’t really understand why you’d do it. Those who know, know and those who don’t don’t care. Trying too hard to me.

The old saying of "more money than sense" springs to mind. But it's really odd who goes in for the badge game. When I was working for a crust "debadging" was the name of the game i.e.: if you got a "plus" model, the badge was removed so that it didn't cause alarm and despondency among the troops. Silly really because my car was always better than my "approved" level.

My cousin bought a spotless and beautiful, as new E Class. It had amassed 12,500 miles and the retiree owner (way past his early 70s) who had had it from new said in passing he would probably sell it because he wasn't driving much any more. Cousin said "how much?" then "- done" and came home in it (for which I hate him)! But - here's the odd thing - it had the new style grille complete with large silver Star and a gunsight badge as well. Personally, I do still prefer the gunsight but I would feel a chump with a mix n match! Last time I saw him he was thinking of replacing the gunsight with the small emblem which I suppose would be better than the old badge and new grille.

Looks like a kit car replica of a C type with a roof. Fuel filler in the roof is directly above where the filler would normally be.
