thinking of buying a CLK220 or CLK320

hello from a possible new Merc owner (hopefully)

thinking of buying a clk220/clk320 around the age of 06/07

what should i be looking out for ?

and is it possible to chip with the BRABUS chip on both models ?
if so anyone know the BHP/TORQUE figure for both ?

I take it you want sufficient power, If yes, go for 320 and you dont necessarily need to go for Brabus chip to acheive extra, 320CDI's are known to give alot more when chipped properly. I beleive as standard they produce around 220BHP and 280lb/ft, after chipping power will reach to above 250bhp and 320lb/ft.

another member - Clive CLS has had his CLS 320CDI chipped and has posted some really good results. you can try searching for his thread and see the exact figure. He also stated that because he told his insurance that the chipping was for better economy, the premium didnt increase either.

I dont think you need to go for BRABUS chip and pay over the odds when you can acheive similair results with half the cost

You can chip both, but Brabus is the most expensive way of doing it. I would be wary of chipping or remapping the 220 as the auto box is rated for about standard torque & not much more.

The CLK220 +30bhp/60nm torque STD 150bhp/340nm
CLK320 +40bhp/90nm torque STD 221bhp/510nm
