I’ve talked to the dealer and everything checks out ok, thoughts on colour combo please - I quite like the colour of the interior especially as it has no fabric inserts and this is only the second one I’ve seen like that.

All depends on the trade-in value for mine

Love the interior

Another year of +£390 VED :(

Says it’s “Artico” I think it’s leather - be good to get the VIN

Very nice Malcolm, mileage a little high for a late 19 but if you are not a large distance user can correct quickly...

Love the colour, if you are buying a true AMG should not have cloth inserts, all Nappa, so this may be superior spec to others you looked at?

Tip before you buy check all lighting, I viewed mine in daylight and only discovered 1x kick plate was not illuminating when 1st used at night, the garage accepted responsibility (not main dealer) and installed a new plate.

Looks like you will get a good warranty, only risk is the hybrid battery, there were some failures recorded in USA upon manufacture and cost £6k to replace, covered under new warranty but usually excluded from used warranties (my only concern longer term).....

Artico is artificial leather, highly unlikely if it is the AMG...

Yes, really like to colour combination. Those skinny tyres would worry me though

Yep, definitely leather!

Thanks for your comments the kick plates aren’t something I would check so will do. I’m taking my son to view when the dealership opens after Xmas he had a W213 for 4 years so a very useful set of eyes. As I said above I haven’t secured the car with a deposit will only do that if I get a reasonable trade-in figure before I travel.

I’ve asked the sales guy about the warranty covering the 48V electrical system and he confirmed it did - I will get this in writing.

Re replacing the 48V battery I’d read that the cost is about $3k in the US so I’m a little surprised at the figure you quoted can you put up a link? I’m a low mileage user perhaps 4k miles a year as it’s used against the coupe. The only issue for me is how the 48V electrical system drains when stood for a couple of weeks, perhaps you can comment on that.

As regards the interior colour I quite like it and ready for a change from black - I wouldn’t go for cream in the estate as the car does get used for transporting stuff around.

I’ll see if I can get the VIN

Skinny, do you mean low profile? They are 275 on 20" rims, hardly skinny...

£7-£15k, not sure how accurate that source is though. I only found out about the risk after buying my E53 but hey even Tesla have battery issues against a minority of cars but it doesn’t stop them selling....

Most reports I have read have been on new 2020 to 2021 models and discovered with 3 months of purchase so with a 19 plate you should be ok as manufacturer issue would have shown by now.

I have only had mine a month so not left it garaged for more than a week without use but OK so far. If you do get discharge issues, it is usually down to the electric water pump running on after parking, can be prevented by unlocking and relocking the car 5 mins after parking (stops the pump from running), can do this from Mercedes me app.....

Not bad but missing distronic and airmatic for me, though it does have adjustable damping which may be a bet between.
Interior is nice, but not cooled which is a surprise, other than that not bad.
Don’t be put off by light interiors, mine gets thoroughly used with its light interior and other than the occasional gliptone wipe down (which reminds me I need to do again soon) it really doesn’t show dirt

I might be wrong Matt but as far as I know the E43/E53 saloon/estates are both full airmatic, I’m trying to get the build spec from the dealer so hopefully he will oblidge tomorrow

I think I might be wrong with that one then too going by Russel’s comment, but would be good to get it checked for sure though

Gets the thumbs up from me on both interior and exterior colour.
I believe Daveenty has the same interior colour upholstery in his S63 and it looks lovely.
Big bonus buying through an MB dealer and getting 24months AMG warranty.
Not cheap if you had to buy it yourself.
I hope you enjoy ownership of a cracking car!

I went to main dealership to buy my E53AMG cabriolet, they tried to get me to purchase a 2.0l diesel! When I insisted on the AMG they said they had searched the national database and would not be able to source as they are too rare (Jardine), so I was forced to source externally:-(...

More porkies from a dealership. They were probably desperate to shift the diseasle and tried to put you off an E53 as they didn't have one within Jardine's network.
