to idle or not to idle

anybody know how idle speed is controlled on a 1990 190e 2ltr auto with cat,other than  idle speed air valve?.can get it to idle spot on when cold but when it gets warm it cuts out,or can get it to idle spot on when warm but then it cuts out when cold.both these adjustments done by altering mixture screw. is it only possible to do it thru the  ecu?, its doing my head in and i'm going to have to go and have a lie down now.

Hi

The KE part of the injection system needs attention. Suggest either your local Stealership or specialist.

Otherwise you will be changing some pretty expensive items to find the problem.
