Yep £5 just to drop off and police might start harassing if you take ‘too long’! Better to go in short stay to avoid a fine for taking 5 seconds too long. Nightmare.

I'm not flying any more (I refuse to be herded like a bl*€#dy sheep any more!) and will go by boat/ship/ferry if I go anywhere across the water.

Picking the daughter up on Wednesday from the airport so she has been told to call when she is waiting , not when the plane lands as it will only take me 10mins to get there.

Drop off is now £5 at LHR - I dropped off there yesterday.

You have to pay on line in advance or within 24 hours of your visit - there is no facility to pay at the airport ! You can pay by using an automated telephone service. though - 0330 008 5600

I noticed the Heathrow charge is per visit unlike the Congestion Charge being for a 24hr period, someone will fall foul of that returning with forgotten passports or luggage!
Drop off and collection from some of the car parks is still free I believe just not well advertised.

If anyone does take someone to B/ham airport don’t drop them off by the side of the road to avoid paying the £3 as there are cars parked all around with cameras on the roof to catch anyone stopping. Then you get a nice £100 bill through your door.

Try dropping someone off or pick someone up at Bristol Airport £5 per 10 minutes!

Not much better at Execketer airport now (Exeter, for non-locals!) :-(
