Hi everyone,
Hope you can help. I have a 1987 TE300 it starts ok BUT it has a mind of its own when deciding what the revs are, it does not stall. The best way to describe it would be cruise control switching on and off. whilst stationary it will rev up and then go to tickover, on the move taking foot from the accelerator it will back off but then go to the speed you were doing be it 30mph or 60mph (for example). the economy gauge moves as iff the accelerator has been pressed. It will last about 2 seconds, the revs die for about 2 seconds and then repeat. It does not matter if hot or cold, short run or after 100 miles, it is also intermittant. Could this be the TPS? if so where is it? easy to change? etc. Please help as it is so annoying and spoiling the drive of a nice car. car does not have cruise control. (could be 300TE! ) Gear selection makes no difference (Auto).
Thanks for your help
