hello i have a 2004 200cdi with 180xxx km. i have now done 2 transmission oil changes in 1 month as i didnt want to do flush,
changed the: conductor plate, connector and did some sonnax kit rebuild. i also bathed the transmission brain in connector spray/cleaner so it shouldnt have any more oil in it.

the transmission feels better than before but still sounds like its flaring a little when going to 2-3 and 3-4. any ideas? dont feel like throwing money at it just by guessing wild. hte hard shifts are 90% gone so i know the kit helped tho. it doesnt worry me too much as its nice to drive now. but since ive used a bit of money now i might as well finish the problems.
sorry for my english :)

Many years ago my 2003 ML270CDI had the same problem. Flared for a moment only on going up into 3rd. All other gears were fine. The flaring was minor but annoyed the hell out of me. I'm a bit OCD so it's gotta be fixed right.

How it was explained to me by the MB techs after they'd fixed it. At the bottom of the gearbox is a long valve body but, maybe a design error (he said), it doesn't have enough mounting bolts to torque it up along its full length so it occasionally warps and causes above mentioned flaring.

Can't remember the cost. But it was fixed and, 10 years later, still fixed.
