Transmission Slip

I have a 1997 C230- it is automatic transmission and has mileage approx 200k. I have noticed this now 2 times in this month, that my car starts the drive the transmission does not shift properly and it slips when I accelerate. This does not happen always. Please advise what care should I take.

Check the oil level in the gearbox it may be low.

Since its doubltful that the oil has never been changed, that might not be a bad thing to do
