Sport package

I went to the dealer today but i forgot to ask, what is twin leather??
i know part leather is the outer cushion is leather and the rest cloth but twin leather??
Can someone enlighten me?
and are there xenons on the sport? are there still the advanguarde equipment??obviously the different alloys, interior aluminiun stuff inside!

Actually from things i have been reading, you have to get the advanguarde then pay extra to get thge sports package?
Is this right? bit confused right now

I'd like to know the answer to that twin leather question too... :)

I think you're right about the sport pack, its going to be similar to the sport pack that was introduced first on the c-class (and will also have the option of the AMG sports pack)

I don't think its the same as the 'sport edition' thats just been released on the c-class, maybe that will come later! :D

Some two tone looks nice, remember the black and silver seats in the SL silver arrows.... ;)

That link that someone put up to germancarfans.com has pictures of the E350 which seem to show what a sport pack could be cos it has different alloys, twin exhausts, painted calipers, sports seats and pedals, and probably a few other goodies here and there. There'll probably also be an AMG sports pack (like the C-class) which will add an AMG bodykit and alloys to the above package. The pics attached give you a flavour of what I'm talking about

Obviously I'm only guessing and have no real information, so I apologise if I annoy anyone by speculating about something that may never happen :)

Well just had a look on the German mercedes site, and it seems that is what the sport pack is:

18" alloys (the ones in the pic)
parktronic
twin chrome oval exhausts
lowered suspension
heated seats
APS50 audio
sports seats
sports pedals
aluminium gearshift surround
and a few other things in German I can't understand!

According to their site, the sport pack costs EUR 1403.60 and the AMG sport pack costs EUR 4767.60

Seems quite reasonable, hopefully it costs the same over here!

According to the German site, you do specify Avantguarde and then add either the sport pack or AMG sport pack, and it also says it comes with APS50 (cd based nav) and parktronic :)

The leather twin is artificial leather-like material and real leather on the seats.

It is a lot cheaper than real leather but at a cost of 950 extra i would rather have real leather and it certainly help resale. If you were buying used and one car had real leather other had twin and the diff was about 400 quid i know which one i would buy...people will treat twin leather as non-leather....but if you want to keep costs down and are going to keep the car for longer then twin may be acceptable. If you adding sports pack on an advantgarde spec then leather would be a MUST since all together they will help the residual value....leave the leather out on such a high spec car then a used buyer will forget about the sports pack etc.

I have leather and when i was buying everyone advise to go with the option...I'm grateful to them that i did......I was speaking to a guy who was searching for a used car..... and he couldn't understand why some good cars with low mileage, phone kit, decent alloys did NOT have leather....that was the sole reason he did not offer on the cars....so GET leather......on this exec class its a MUST.

Is that what it is? I can't believe Mercedes even offer fake leather, let alone people who would actually choose to buy it

the leather bit you sit on will be real and the surround round the seat will be fake...keeps the price down so as you have to fork out more for the real stuff as you dont want to be a scratter do you. same as the cheap wheels they insist on for ther base models...makes you upgrade them.

good business sense. the low initial cost makes sense so you go and look. then you like the amount of options and you start paying more to get it how you want it. either way they make money.

Fake leather is usually pretty obvious, I just can't understand why they do it. Are they happy about their cars having fake leather in them? Its really lame to say it for people to be able to afford it, just reduce the price

The fake leather looks the same as the real one that is why it fake...it resembles the real one. I haven't seen the fake one since i've only sat in real leather(my car and the avantgarde half leather(test drive car). I would imagine it will look similar to the person would intends to keep it. DONT be fooled to think a keen buyer will not notice.....Mbz has made sure they will....the Door leather inserts on all 4 doors with the Real leather are rippled and quite bulging and have substance and cushioning effect. Whereas the fake stuff has straight inserts with no leather like effect....a giveway that the car has twin leather....End of the day its your money and your choice....If leather is not that important go with the twin and sell it on as twin as someone might compromise if all other options are what they were looking for.
