I use Twitter a lot to inform my followers about new Guides that I'm writing, it must be working as i'm getting more followers all the time (418 now), I also use it to post info to friends/colleauges as you can send both public and direct (private) messages

I write Step by Step Guides for Windows Server Administrators in particular those you use a product called System Center Configuration Manager,

I really like Twitter and use it daily (reading/posting)

You must be a clever bloke. I tried twitted but not really able to figure it out. Gave up in the end. Looks like a perfect medium for fans of a celeb to watch and wait for announcements.
Just dont see the point in it.
But as for posting windowz guides, that must take some patience to figure, which is why im surprised. I thought there were message size limits for sending tweets. You wouldnt have enough tweets for them all.

For business promotion facebook seems to be popular an usefull. Many companies though seem to think people want to be targeted by them. Blasting out ads and unknown boring info. In my oppinion if a good company provides a good usefull service, the word soon gets around.
The best option is a nice website with all the info available. And people will find it and look if they wat to. Otherwise, it becomes annoying pr and marketing, that most people find annoying, which actually does the opposite and people switch off.

I have a lot of followers, Loads of Porn stars, young ladies wishing me to join them in private web cam conversations, Body part growth companies. I follow a number of interesting people but never got my head around how it works. Sent a tweet to Denise Richards but never got a reply. I do not think I fully understand Twitter and how it works. Am I really bothered!!!! No.

This whole social networking thing has passed me by, i Hate even the idea of Bookface/Twitter and unless like some have said above it helps for work..i just see no value to knowing when someone has had a No.2, and how big or runny it was. I just don't get any of it, if i want to get in touch with someone i will just send an E mail, ring them or even send them a real letter in the Royal Mail!!
No body cares what i am doing now, or in ten minutes time. Why would i imagine that anyone would even be slightly interested in what i am planning for my tea, or how much i did ordid not drink last night....A charter for sad self obsessed empty individuals if you ask me.....which i know you didn't...just my Christmas two penneth

I assume the idea of the porn star followers is that you get the horn over them and hunt out their porn on the web?
