I recently spent a small fortune on new michelin front tyres. I noticed a screw in one of the tyres and the garage repaired it by plugging the hole with rubber. I can see a blob of rubber sticking out of the hole on the outside. Is the tyre now as strong as it was before the puncture and is it OK to see a blob of rubber on the outside? Thanks in advance.

The welded blob is probably the strongest part of your tyre.
It's like a weld. If you weld 2 pieces of metal together and when cold you hit them until they brake with a hammer, It's never the weld that lets go first.

Cheers. Should the blob be protruding so much on the outside?
