How many miles would you expect continentals on a 15 month old C180 to last ? I have 16K on the clock and both rear tyres look like they need replacing:(

If you mainly do town driving it sounds about right to me. I used to get 15-17k out of a set of tyres (Pirelli, goodyear,Conti..) when all I did was stop-start. Started doing a lot of motorway work and 18k later the tyres are barely worn.

I'm sure you'll get some very technical responses but from experience I would think the mileage you mention is about right unless as jberks says you do a lot of motorway miles.

One thing I have noticed about tyre wear is that the more low profile you go (mine are 55 profile) the softer the compound is generally. This is to provide the extra grip and performance we demand now adays, but if you use that performance to the full expect to see no more than 10-12K.

It can work out quite expensive if like me a couple of Michelin tyres run out at £250 the pair. Bearing this in mind I'm not so heavy footed nowadays.
