Hey all,

Just wondering if anybody could advise the best alternative to LRP for my 2.3-16? I've heard many fantastic stories including the option of putting lead balls in the fuel tank (No idea if that would work but it sounds interesting!) and would really like to find out the truth of which method works!

Thanks,

James

i assume your taking about a 190e 2.3 16v and yes it designed to run on unleaded without modification

It may run on unleaded but with an additive you could run a higher compression ratio, hence improving performance and economy -although you should expect reliability and durability to drop accordingly.

Thanks to both Teky and Impaler for your advice. However, now you can see what I have been going through!! Everybody says different stuff! I'm not really that fussed about increased performance, my car drives beautifully, but I wouldn't want to do anything to detract from it's fantastic reliability, apart from anything, parts are getting harder to find!!

Please don't think I am doubting you Teky, but I just want to make sure 100% that whatever I do won't damage my car in ANY way!
