I have been trying to sell my 2000 'W' 2.3 Litre, Esprit, Estate since December and am having difficulty because this model is not listed in any of the guides! Apparently there is no such thing as a 2.3 Esprit! Can anyone tell me why?

the name changed from Sport to Esprit about this time...

E or C class?

C230 sport is identical to esprit for example.
2000 was the changeover year for the C class W202 to W203

I not so sure the info on Sports being changed to Esprits is correct. The model line up on the 202's was Classic, Esprit, Elegance and Sport.

The Esprit used the same suspension as the Sport but was a cheaper model, ie it came with hubcaps, and had a different interior to the Sport....it was more of a sportier Classic if that makes sense.

Cheers

Not quite correct... the W202 never came in avantgarde trim

I'm not sure if esprit models replaced classic or other way round but the sport and esprit were definitely separate designations that existed together. The esprit shared the same lowered suspension as mentioned above but that was about it.
