For charging down to France and back with beds, fridges, paint etc, I sold our S500 to buy a LHD V220. Although it is ideal for the job, a pal unkindly but quite accurately refers to as Mercedes' ponced-up van!
I would be grateful if anyone can shed light on a little problem. I find that if I have a few engine starts and short runs, the instrument panel does not function - apart from the gauge needles that move slightly in time with a tick - tick - ticking sound coming from I know not where!
Also the central locking does not work. Then, after a have travelled for 4 or 5 miles, everything comes back to normal. Does this suggest that the system is simply shutting down one or two non-essential functions until the battery has re-charged? And might it also indicate that the battery may be in need of replacement? many thanks
