I have a 1999 V230 Trend. Last year I experienced intermittant power-fade where the engine would not rev over 3,000rpm. I had many visits to dealers and eventually the ecu was replaced BUT, I am now experiencing the same but worse . . rev's often being limited to 2,000 rpm (which makes the car almost impossible to drive! I've spent a lot of money on this car and have lost all faith in MB, does anyone have any ideas?

The V series is notoriously troublesome. Best bet is give them one more chance but when you leave in the car give them a full description [in writing, preferably drafted by your solicitor-its money well spent] of what has been done with a request that they put it right since they have legally entered into a contract with you to repair the vehicle and have [presumably] charged you for it and you have paid them. The fact that they cannot fix it is MB problem but they do try always to make it the customers problem. One needs to get very tough with MB when when you get trouble.

If you get an opportunity to trade out of it take it because the secondhand values diminish as the reputation gets worse.
