I have just seen the model numbers affected by this issue. Does anybody know if it affects the w203 estate? I remember reading that it only effects cars produced in South Africa and that the estate was produced in Germany, can anyone confirm this?

Assuming the number is broken down like this:

C Class 203271722.695

203 = model
271 = first 3 digits of engine number
722.695 = first 6 digits of transmission

If this is the case then i think i need a new radiator......and may be a new.......no i'm not gonna say that....

Mainly Mercedes
I have seen the fault in 209 CLK's with valeo rad, and rad carries 203 prefix part number, and I have seen the same part number on rads in 203 C Class, but I will admit that I have not yet had one of those 203 C Classes with a faulty one. I have changed a few in C Class on a precautionary basis though.

How's that for fence sitting???

You can jump down now :D as I would never argue with Colechelle, he knows so much more than me and has the inside info, whether or not a 203 exist with this fault I do not know

I stand corrected young man:D:D:D

This is hard as I cant find one in the UK, so what does one do.

The car in this thread has not got a fault, its only a preventive measure.

I hate these kind of things:-:)-:)-(

I think my car is fitted with a Behr rad. Reason being is, i just went and had a look at the connectors. Down the right side of the rad (looking as if from the drivers seat) are a load of raised strips that look identical to the ones on the Behr rads in the identification threads. I still wont be entirely happy untill i get the front end crossmember off and positively identify it by the sticker. Will post some pics and see what you guys think. So at the mo i'm :D but might still be :(
