Vito Power steering fluid...why the big secret ??

i have been trying for hours and hours to find what power steering fluid to put into my 2003 vito 111 cdi,

honestly its easier to find military secrets, the manual refuses to mention it either, i take it that mercedes really want you to take the vehicle to a service centre just to top up the power steering fluid.

anybody have any idea what type it is ??

atf is ok in lots of steering applications,, try merc, give them your chassis number, they will supply you with a litre bottle, about 10-15 quid

Hi Steve, Don't know 100% about the Vito but the Sprinter with the same m111 of that era had a power steering spec of: shell - Donax TA which is a general purpose atf so can't see you going far wrong with this.
