I have a 280ce 1976 last of model and would like some more power from the motor but still keeping it reliable & driveable.
I'm looking at a new exhaust and airfilter which should help a bit.

Any suggestions out there or has anyone attempted this???

What about hooking a turbo up???

I would like to keep it a six, fuel costs rego costs, etc.
I'll get a custom 2.5" SS exhaust made, thats no problems.

My other option was to put a 3.0l twin turbo toyota motor from a supra in which puts out about 300hp at the wheels. In oz you get a front cut for 1000-1500 pounds with about 30,000miles on it. very tempting but would like to keep on the merc route.

To install this motor/gearbox would cost less than reconditioning existing mercedes motor/gearbox!!!!!
