Thought I would ask the other owners for some help before I start spending more cash.

Symptom.

When accelerating the fuel cuts out completely when asked to deliver more fuel i.e. overtaking, going up a hill or flooring it. On a straight I can reach 60mph but only gradually. Their is no missfirering or acrid smoke.

I have replaced.

Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter
Kick down switch
Fuel pump relay.
ECU (opens and closes the injectors)
Mass air flow meter

The fuel pipes are all new and their is pressure evident on the other side of the regulator coming from the injectors.

I have ordered a new pressure regulator which I'm hoping will resolve the matter however I am now running out of suggestions on how to fix it.

W114 Coupe

I'm getting to the stage now where I might just sell her.

I've just splashed big cash on another fuel pump on my mechanics advice to no avail and changed the pressure regulator.

Has anyone got the slightest idea why my car will not accelerate to above 60mph.

I thank you in advance.

Yes, find a Bosch specialist - you'll end up replacing half the engine otherwise.

Fuel problems sorted to a fashion.

After speaking to Bosch the the part numbers for the fuel pumps turned out to be wrong there for a W123 series, SLIGHTLY CONFUSING as the engine in both is the M110. The pumps supplied were apprently to powerfull, operating at about 6 bar.

The 114 series injection models operate on out 2.5 - 3 bar presssure. Just about to fit the smaller pump, lets see how long this one lasts for!

I appreciate the help. Thanks
