Hi All,

I'm considering buying a W123 as a classic. Prices are all over the place from 1000 to 4000! I suppose condition is the real determiner of price.

So my query is: What should I look out for when buying one of these. Where did they rust most, what went on the electrics and what else should I watch out for engine/Gbox wise?

Lastly what was the best model and what are the extras worth paying more for?

I'd be buying 1977 (maybe78) or earlier to get the classic insurance and tax. My budget would extend to maybe euro4000 or so depending on condition.

Many thanks,

Fran
