Hi people! I bought a 1985 200 to replace my beautiful lovely red 230E which came to a sad end. The 200 was using more and more petrol, around town, and was getting worse with the cold and rain, down to 145 miles for a tank (about 12 mpg). I had the carb and timing adjusted by a garage - from a CO of 12% to 1.5% (should be 1 +- 0.5%). Feels a lot better when its warm, but when cold it starts fine, runs okayish, but revs drop at traffic lights - I have to press the gas to stop it stalling- not easy in stop gp traffic queues!
Any ideas? My garage (caring and cheap) don't seem to have any idea what it might be, they just say "its an old car" - but the old lady never did that - she was sweet and good (and very rusty). Oh, when they were adjusting the carb, it wanted to either go way too high or way to low -took a lot of fine adjustment to get right. I haven't got a tank mileage yet, but it doesn't seem much better. Hey, I only want 22mpg!
