y 230E suffers from:
1 - No power from start up (cold or hot) for about 2 minutes. It feels like it is only 2 cylinders. It will stall unless you feather the throttle. It backfires when you try to accellerate at this time too. It comes good, and everything is fine, until the engine is turned off.
2 - It will loose power at cruising speed, ie, when overtaking.

When the engine fuel idle switch on the engine is disconected, the car does not loose power at cruise. (Still looses power at start up). With this switch connected, you can be cruising at say 60 kmph and take your foot off the throttle for 10 seconds, re-apply throttle, and then the engine will splutter. Disconnect this, and all is okay.

Funny thing is that for a week it will be perfect, then it will be undrivable???

It has everyone mystified. Everything checks out spot on. I have replaced: Fuel distributor, computer, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, temp sensors and almost everything else I can! Funny thing is that it was fine, until I had the auto transmission removed and reconditioned. Probably just a con-incidence! Any leads would be appreciated! kevin@gc123.com
