Hi all,
I have done a search on leaking injectors but failed to come up with an answer.
My '93 300D has sprung a leak and I need help identifying the culprit. With the engine (603.912, 12 valve) running I can see fuel bubbling out from underneath the #6 Injector, between the cylinder head and what looks like a black plastic adaptor/bush (?). This is the part I need to identify.
I have the German equivalent of a Haynes manual and it calls it a 'Abdichthuelse' which roughly translates into Sealing Bush but when I tried to order a new one from my local Merc stealer it was the wrong part.
So far I've not dismantled my car as I need to use it, I was trying to get the parts before starting the job.
Is this part likely to cure my leak or is there anything else causing it?
Any help appreciated.

Well, my leak turned out to be nothing more than perished return lines. Thanks to the excellent link by Mr Parrot I was able to cure it.
However, I've yet to find an explanation for the bubbles appearing at the base of the injector. Having removed them (for a refurbish there appears to be a small hole next to the thread in the cylinder head. I vaguely remember someone else asking about them on here but can't seem to find the thread. Anyone know why that hole is there?

Hi Roadhog,
I posted a question about a fuel leak,I cant find the thread either. So far,it seems that the injectors are screwed into a steel sleeve. The leak appears to be between the steel sleeve and the aluminium cylinder head.I think the sleeve will screw out if I can find a splined bar approximately 25mm diameter. If all this is correct,Iwill post the results.

As above, check your return lines first. I took my injectors out for a refurb a while ago, I shied away from taking out the chambers, too scary if it goes wrong.
Good luck and let us know how you go. :)
