Right, my first non sale post...

I'm undertaking this engine conversion in the next month or so and I'm just hoping that someone out here has already got the experience of doing it and what snaggles am I to expect?

For example: exhausts, will the pipework fit from down pipe, will the radiator cope with demand etc etc

hi twigz
firstly it wont be a simple conversion your going to need the complete wiring loom from the v8. the exhaust is totally different also the radiator is completely different too. if you have the complete donor car it will be easier but not a straight forward job. im sure someone will be along soon to point out other issues.

brakes (more power so i'd imagine bigger disks), suspension (heaver engine), probably even the fuel tank size and tyre ratings are different. The rear axle and diff will no doubt be geared differently as the 2.8 runs considerably higher revs than a V8. Factor in all the other bits and bobs -will the revcounter work, is the speedo calibrated to match the new gearbox ....
- good luck - it will be a great motor when it's done but it's going to be a LOT bigger job than a simple engine swap.

Oh, I'm under no delusion when it comes to engine swapping that all other upgrades are to be taken into account and it will be a lengthy process.

I'm know, work wise, there will be hell of a lot of effort but, in comparison for £ - BHP this out weighs other options. Unless you guys know otherwise...
