Hi The ASD warning light has just come on on my W140 2.8 and also the warning triangle, but goes out when the brake pedal is pressed. I have checked the brake fluid level and it is at the correct level. Can anyone please help?

They are normally up against the bulk head under a cover, they are pigs to test as you cannot get to the terminals, there are 3 pin 87 outputs a,b and c

Yes both the triangle warning light in the dial and dash light stay on when the engine is started but goes out when the brake pedal is pressed and on again when released. It only started tonight, at first i think the triangle light was slow to go out, then I noticed both remained on.

It is or should all be on the inside of the offside front wing, under the plastic cover with the winged head screws. .

I will find you exact details as I need to know what socket is in the car, its too early I think for the 38 pin.

Email sent with details

OK thank you please undo that cover and see what socket is there. If the 38 pin it needs different leads and I must know that and I will provide the 38 pin pin outs

I have removed a plastic cover near the coolant expansion tank is located I can only find right next to this tank is a round cabletied and lead sealed plastic cover which is approx a 2 pence diametre and is numbered 1 to 7 in a clockwise direction. it looks as if it has not been touched or opened since manufacture! I have looked all around the wing area and can not find anything resembling what you have described. Could you send a diagram please?
