No first hand experience, as my roof is solid metal (a rusty one, I'm sure - it is a Mercedes), but hopefully these files should help:

https://we.tl/t-2PEJ1leByJ

38 files, so had to zip and upload to WeTransfer.
The link is only there for 7 days.

Sun roof problem.
hi, my first post, the model is Webasto a 169 780 01 44, its the 5 panel model , it will open and close the rear 4 with no problem, when it gets to the wind deflector panel it stops, if you knock the two metal arms or pegs it drops down.
at this point it is closed but if you drive off it starts to whistle. I am in Italy and its 34 deg so no chance of rain.
if i then try to open it it lifts the wind deflector with no problem and then the other 4 panels slide back.

basically it only doesn't close the wind deflector and dosent seal properly when you over ride it.

Just went to an Italian mercedes dealer, 400 euros just to look at it.

If i could work out what is broken i would order and fix it my self.

thanks every one.

Hi GLK
I down loaded them and read the relevent ones, its not clear to me if it is the cable or a piece broken off a guide, but thanks anyway

No worries.
Obviously those workshop information files won't be able to diagnose the problem, but should be helpful fixing it ;)

Simple plastic parts, assuming that's what it is, are often cheaper direct from Mercedes - I've seen used and battered ones on eBay at double the price of a brand new part from my local MB ...

I'll try to upload these here, bit by bit - would be better for everyone, I think.
10 files at a time, if I'm not mistaken ...

and the last one:

These are for W245, but almost everything is identical for W169.

No worries ;)

As I said, haven't dealt with this particular problem myself, however I have done a few mods on my C169 - will be happy to share.

David :)

Hi there im new to the forum. I have a w245 b-200 2010 and i have the same issue. The lamella roof works fine but the wind deflector dosnt open or close. I know what the problem is. Its the rail guide plastic clips on both sides. I know were to order them from. The only problem is i have no idea how the fit the new guides in. Any help will be much appreciated thanks!

Hi, another newbie. Parents A160 Lamella wind deflector packed it in today with what sounded like snapping plastic. All the slats move as they should with just the front wind slat being affected. I've had a quick sniff and it looks like the infamous plastic parts are the culprit, as this thread would suggest. Has anyone done this repair without taking the sunroof/headlining out? Also, does anybody have the part numbers for the repair kit mentioned in this thread?

Any help apreciated.

Gracias
